Headset volume buttons do not change the volume level of the connected device
If you are unable to control the volume of a the device connected to your headset using the headset controls, try the following:
Check that the headphone jack is clean and free of debris.
Use a flashlight or other light source to check if any lint or debris has entered the headphone jack on the device, which can interfere with the connection.
Try disabling TTY, if enabled, in your device settings menu.
In your device phone settings, look for the TTY setting. This setting can be useful for hearing-impairments. However, when enabled, volume from your device might be increased and might not reduce as much as when the setting is disabled. If enabled, disable TTY and try again.
Plug in a different pair of headphones.
Connect another pair of headphones to the audio device to determine if the issue is with the device or its settings.
Be sure the buttons on your product are not stuck.
When you push a button on your product, you should feel it depress. When you release the button, it should snap back to its original position. If it does not, it may be stuck. Check for and clean any debris around the button.
