Honouring an icon: the 901 speaker

Any celebration of the 60-year history of Bose has to include the legendary 901 Speaker. So to give this icon the honour it deserves, Bose turned to Kith Founder, CEO and Creative Director Ronnie Fieg, along with famed furniture designer Mark Jupiter to refurbish and reimagine 12 original speakers to create the Bose 60th Anniversary Edition 901 Speaker.

“You can’t help but admire how timeless the design is. It’s as relevant today as it was then.”

Listening at home like never before

The original 901 Speaker was a turning point for at-home audio when it first launched in 1968. It brought the immersive experience of a live concert into your living room.

“The 901s were revolutionary for their time, transforming the perception of audio devices by blending seamlessly into home décor.”

A fresh take on a classic

Fieg and Jupiter’s love for music and design sense made them the perfect pair for bringing the 901 into the 21st century. Plus, the two are close friends and collaborators, with Jupiter having crafted bespoke furnishings for Fieg and Kith stores worldwide.

The final 60th Edition 901 Speaker features modern touches with retro vibes that stay true to the original. White-washed ash and natural air-dried walnut casings, hand-rubbed brass pedestals and the original grille fabric sourced by Fieg, Jupiter and the Bose team combine to make for a statement piece in both sound and style.
