Setting the adjustable Active Noise Cancellation mode
The noise cancellation in your headphones can be set higher or lower. This is useful in environments where you want to hear more or less of the sound around you.
To turn up or down the amount of noise cancelling:
- Open the Bose Connect app and find your product
Tip: If you have more than one Bose Bluetooth® product, swipe left or right to find it - On the cirle that surrounds the image of your product, tap and hold the black dot and rotate it clockwise or counterclockwise to increase or decrease noise cancellation.
Use the inline remote buttons to adjust the noise reduction level.
The arrow buttons on the side of the inline remote turn up or down the amount of noise cancellation from 1 (lowest) to 12 (highest). Press or hold the Up and Down arrows to set the desired noise reduction level.

Using Aware mode.
To switch to Aware mode, press the Mode button on the side of the microphone. When enabled, only the battery light glows.
Aware mode applies minimal noise cancelling, which lets you to hear more of what is going on around you while using your headphones. (Note: With any headphones, higher volume can make it difficult to hear your surroundings. Use low to moderate volume when trying to hear some of the environmental noises outside your headphones.)
