Linking Multiple Speakers
If you have two Bose app-compatible Bluetooth speakers, you can link them together to play in party mode or stereo mode.
Before you begin
- Make sure your phone, tablet, or computer isn't on a call. This can turn off the voice prompts when linking your speakers.
- By default, the shortcut button is set to link your speakers. If you’ve changed this setting, see Using the Shortcut Button to adjust your shortcut.
Linking is a feature available with the following speakers:
- SoundLink Max Portable Speaker
- SoundLink Flex Portable Speaker (2nd Gen)
To link your speakers:
- Power on both speakers by pressing the power button
once.
- Connect your personal device (smartphone, tablet, or computer) to one of the speakers using Bluetooth.
- On the connected speaker, press and release the shortcut button
.
- The shortcut light will slowly blink white with the Bluetooth tone, followed by the voice prompt "Press the shortcut button on a second Bose Bluetooth speaker".
- On the second speaker, press and release the shortcut button
.
- The shortcut light will slowly blink white.
- When the speakers are linked, you'll hear a voice prompt announcing the mode, and both shortcut lights will turn solid white.
- Note: It may take a few seconds for the mode announcement to be heard.
What you'll hear:
- If both speakers are the same model, you'll hear "Stereo mode" followed by "Left" and "Right" for each speaker.
- If the speakers are different models, you'll hear "Party mode" on both.
To switch between Stereo & Party Mode:
Press and release the shortcut buttonTo unlink your speakers:
On the second speaker, you can either turn it off by pressing and releasing the power button
, or press and hold the shortcut button
until you hear the tone.
